Through
a letter published on Tuesday's issue of Eleftherotypia newspaper,
Alexandros Giotopoulos, one of the founders of the armed guerrilla
group “November 17”, as long as he is telling the truth, exposes
the Greek government
by system
failure
The scene
appears to be change rapidly after the letter of Alexandros
Giotopoulos to Eleftherotypia newspaper. The former head of the
terrorist group “November 17” exposes government since it is
quite clear that according to his statements, the former member of
the group and now fugitive, Christodoulos Xiros, was enjoying
favorable treatment in prison and this was an order from "above".
It is rather
difficult someone to imagine a man like Christodoulos Xiros purely as
a tool of the para-state mechanism used in periods of emergency,
although in these cases, everything is possible.
Let's not
forget the case of the "monk with the machine gun", a
secret services agent who, having plenty of action as a member of
revolutionary movements in Latin America, was recruited by the armed
guerrilla group “Red Brigades” in Italy. The case of the former
Christian Democrat Prime Minister Aldo Moro assassination - under
unclear, even for the group leader Alberto Franceschini,
circumstances - under the excuse that Moro was trying to achieve a
historical compromise between the Right and the Left in Italy,
resembles the case of the Greek politician Pavlos Bakoyannis who was
assassinated by "November 17".
However, the
case of Christodoulos Xiros seems to be different as he rather
changed during his presence in prison and transformed gradually to a
man of the para-state mechanism, gaining some special treatment and
some special privileges. Or, he was probably chosen by the para-state
as the most suitable to be used when things would go wrong for the
systemic establishment, a choice based on his "profile".
Indeed,
among the members of the hard core of "November 17",
Christodoulos Xiros appears to be the most suitable to play the
para-state's game, even beyond his will. The former leader and
"theoretical mind" of the organization, Alexandros
Giotopoulos, is unsuitable also because of his age, Savas Xiros is
not able to "persuade" for his operational ability because
of his serious health problems, while Dimitris Koufodinas appears to
be more clever than Christodoulos Xiros and therefore much more
dangerous to get out of control. Therefore, this probably explains
the special treatment of Christodoulos Xiros.
In case that
Christodoulos Xiros will stay out too long, it would be a strong
indication that the systemic establishment uses now every mean to
disorientate public from new cruel measures which will come until
May's euro elections or possible triple elections in Greece, playing
dangerous games.
Possible
provocative operations will be the tool for further criminalization
of protests and application of new cruel measures of state
suppression.
